Hypoaspis-System – robust predator that dines out on soil pests
Well-adapted to controlling thrips, fungus gnat and shore flystages found in the soil
- Feeds on harmful soil pests – thrips pupae and fungus gnat & shore fly larvae
- Can be used preventatively – can survive on algae and plant debris in absence of prey
- Healthy appetite – each mite consumes up to 5 prey a day
- Robust - Stratiolaelaps scimitus (formerly Hypoaspis miles) can survive without prey for several weeks
- Possibility for year round releases – predatory mite is effective at temperatures as low as 10 °C
